YEREVAN. – National Assembly (NA) Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan on Thursday received Gurbannazar Nazarov, Turkmenistan’s new Ambassador to Armenia.
Abrahamyan expressed the hope that Nazarov’s activities will contribute to the strengthening and deepening of Armenian-Turkmen relations.
The NA leader also underscored the development of relations between the legislative bodies of the two countries, and noted that he stands ready to assist in the invigoration of these ties and to the cooperation between the parliamentary friendship groups, informs the NA press service.
For his part, Ambassador Nazarov assured that he will make use of his experience to strengthen and develop Armenian-Turkmen relations. He also highlighted the revitalizing of interparliamentary ties, and noted that the Armenia Friendship Group is already formed in the new Turkmenistan parliament.
Hovik Abrahamyan and Gurbannazar Nazarov also called attention to the development of trade and economic ties, and cooperation within international organizations.
