YEREVAN. – Speaker of the Armenian parliament Hovik Abrahamyan promised assistance to the school of Berkaber, a village on the border with Azerbaijan.
During his visit to Tavush Region, Speaker visited Berkaber village and talked to the director of the school Volodya Balasanyan.
The director said some classrooms are in the zone of fire from the Azerbaijani armed forces, and the teachers are forced not to hold classes in these rooms.
The school has 37 students now, but there will be shortage of classrooms in several years, he said.
Hovik Abrahamyan promised to instal armored windows in order to tackle the problem. The speaker also promised to provide school books, and yet presented computers and sports equipment.
