YEREVAN. – There is no full ban on lace lingerie in the Customs Union, Deputy Economy Minister Tigran Harutyunyan told reporters.
“I understand your desire to cover the issue with humor. But my explanation applies to any product. If the problem is that the item is not on the customs code , the manufacturer may apply to the World Customs Organization and ask to generate a 10-digit code or a 12-digit, if necessary,” he said.
As for the lingerie, Harutyunyan recalled that Moscow is one of the largest consumers of glamorous goods.
“But neither Victoria's Secret, nor Agent Provocateur or other major brands have suspended the sale of goods you mentioned in Moscow. So they have adapted to the trade codes of the Custоms Union,” he said.
The panties are banned under Customs Union’s technical regulations for the safety of light industry products.
