YEREVAN. – There are no parallels between situation in Ukraine and Armenia, director of Caucasus Institute Alexander Iskandaryan told reporters.
“When talking about Ukraine, we have to deal with the presence of common national substance, unity of the people. There is no such problem in Armenia,” he noted.
Iskandaryan said the common features between Armenia and Ukraine are presence of incompetent authorities and weak opposition which is characteristic feature of all post-Soviet states.
Some opposition politicians are trying to draw parallels between situation in Ukraine and Armenia, thus predicting mass protest actions in Yerevan.
