YEREVAN. – The European Union (EU) stands ready to continue assisting in the ongoing reforms in Armenia.

Ambassador Traian Hristea, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, stated the abovementioned at Tuesday’s meeting of the EU Advisory Group Council.  

Summing up the results of the activities of the group, the diplomat stressed that the accomplishments include the EU-Armenia agreement on readmission and the relaxation of visa procedures, which entered into force on January 1. As per Hristea, this is a very serious step.

At the previous phase of the program—that is, in the last quarter of 2013—the group actively worked on justice, human rights, and democracy issues.  

Overall, Traian Hristea gave a high assessment to the activities of the group. 

The EU Advisory Group was formed in 2009, and to assist in Armenia’s reforms.
