YEREVAN. – Armenian parliament on Wednesday voted for an ad hoc committee on gas issues with 75 votes “for”, 3 “against” and 30 abstentions.

Prior to the vote head of opposition ANC group Levon Zurabyan said the initiative of four non-coalition parties was crowned with success, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reported.

“Although the parliamentary faction has a negative attitude towards the idea of closed-door meetings, we will participate in its work,” he said.

Prosperous Armenia faction secretary Naira Zohrabyan said they would participate in the work of committee, but will abstain from voting.

The parliament had to vote on an ad hoc committee dealing with problems of Nairit plant, but the session was interrupted for 20 minutes at the request of ARF Dashnaktsutyun MP Aghvan Vardanyan.
