YEREVAN. – Armenian parliament rejected initiative on creating an ad hoc committee to tackle the problems of Nairait rubber plant.
The initiative was rejected with 44 votes “for”, 55 “against” and 1 abstention, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reported.
Before the vote head of the Republican Party of Armenia group Galust Sahakyan said they are not against the ad hoc committee on Nairit, but believe the committee will not serve its purpose.
Earlier parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamyan said it would be better to convene committee in fall.
The employees of Nairit plant are holding a protest action near the National Assembly, demanding salary for 15 months.
