YEREVAN. – Armenia and Greece need to cooperate more closely at the parliamentary assemblies of international organizations.

The aforementioned was stated at the meeting between Foreign Affairs Minister Edward Nalbandian and Speaker Vangelis Meimarakis of the Hellenic Parliament, who is in Armenia on a two-day official visit.   

The interlocutors noted that there is close cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries, and their interparliamentary friendship groups are working actively, informs the Armenian MFA press service.

The parties conferred on the steps being taken to develop Armenian-Greek friendly relations, the promotion of trade and economic cooperation, and they underscored decentralized collaboration.      

They also reflected on Armenia-European Union (EU) cooperation in the context of Greece’s EU Chairmanship.

Nalbandian presented the ongoing efforts by Armenia and the international community toward a pacific settlement to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.   

In addition, Edward Nalbandian and Vangelis Meimarakis exchanged views on regional matters and the avenues for their resolution.
