YEREVAN. – Today’s Ukraine may be compared with Georgia of 1992-1993, when a civil war was going on in the country, and it is absolutely wrong to compare Ukraine with Armenia.

Caucasus Institute Director, political scientist Alexander Iskandaryan stated the aforementioned at a press conference on Friday.

In Iskandaryan’s conviction, Armenia has not experienced a region seceding and not recognizing the central government.

“We have not had people from one region being moved to another region so they may pressurize one another; [but] such a thing occurred in Georgia during the civil war,” the analyst noted.

Alexander Iskandaryan stressed that the territorial, religious, and cultural components of the conflict are extremely important in the case of Ukraine.
