YEREVAN. – Secretary of Prosperous Armenia parliamentary group Naira Zohrabyan will participate in the rally dedicated to March 1 tragic events.

Members of the party are free to participate in the rally, she told reporters, adding that one should not shift responsibility of March 1 events on Prosperous Armenia.

“I have a preliminary statement and final conclusions of the ad hoc committee of 2008 where I was working together with Aram Safaryan. Chairman of that committee Samvel Nikoyan can confirm the statement made by Prosperous Armenia then,” she said.

Naira Zohrabyan insisted on formation of new ad hoc committee. This must be done not only for holding accountable those guilty, but for excluding repetition of the tragedy in the future, she explained.

As a result of clashes between authorities and opposition, 8 demonstrators and 2 law enforcers were killed on March 1, 2008. No one has been held accountable for their deaths.
