YEREVAN. – The rally dedicated to the sixth anniversary of March 1 tragic events continued by marching in Yerevan downtown from the Liberty Square to the Myasnikyan’s statue, where 10 people were killed in demonstration on March 1, 2008.
The ANC started the march after the opposition leader, Armenia’s First President Levon Ter-Petrosyan ended his speech, Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports.
The march was divided in two parts: the part of participants marched to Baghramyan avenue and another part towards Myasnikyan monument.
As a result of clashes between authorities and opposition, 8 demonstrators and 2 law enforcers were killed on March 1, 2008. No one has been held accountable for their deaths.
