YEREVAN. – Political leaders make statements given their political views and interests. Levon Ter-Petrosyan differs from other politicians by often being not in touch with political reality, Armenian analyst Sergey Minasyan said.

He commented for Armenian News-NEWS.am on the recent remarks made by ANC leader during the March 1 rally in Yerevan.

Minasyan believes Ter-Petrosyan's statement regarding Armenia's inevitable way to Customs Union came amid Ukrainian developments.

“In this regard, Ter-Petrosyan admitted the reality,” he added.

The analyst emphasized that ANC is constantly trying to mend ties with Prosperous Armenia that is the second largest political party in the parliament. This suggests the first president is trying to improve contacts with Prosperous Armenia by making such messages, especially when PA demonstrates itself as constructive opposition, Minasyan concluded.
