The Azerbaijani media continue to misrepresent the statements by diplomats and the representatives from international organizations.

The next such case is connected with the statement by British Ambassador to Azerbaijan Irfan Siddiq, who delivered a lecture titled “Politics and Political Culture of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland” at Khazar University in Azerbaijan.

As for the debates on the separation of Scotland from the UK and the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the diplomat said that we will have a lot of debates about it in the next six months.

“Everyone agrees Armenia should withdraw from the occupied lands and all the lands come back to Azerbaijan. What is happening in UK is interesting. Lots of people don’t want to be in the UK. Rather than war, we will have a referendum. Solution for determination of the future status of Nagorno Karabakh has to be some referendum. This is logical compromise for determining of future status,” Siddiq specifically noted in his remarks.

From the entire aforesaid statement, however, most Azerbaijan media “managed” to solely understand that Great Britain considers that “Armenia should withdraw from the occupied lands.”

But the British diplomat’s call basically refers to the fact that problems should be solved in a civilized manner. This is a direct message to Azerbaijan, which provoked a bloody conflict and continues to threaten to use force to resolve all matters.
