Russian will determine its final position on Crimea after the referendum, head of State Duma committee on CIS Leonid Slutskiy told reporters.

“All parliamentary groups stand for preserving territorial integrity of Ukraine. But we understand why the residents of Crimea put the issue to referendum,” he said.

Slutskiy added that Russia's position will be determined as a result of referendum, ITAR-TASS reported.

Earlier Crimea official said the supreme council set referendum for March 16.
