YEREVAN. – Armenia's siding with any party to Ukrainian crisis may create problems with Russia, a strategic partner, or European states, analyst Sergey Minasyan said.
Armenia will act as the country did during the Russian-Georgian war of 2008, that is to stay neutral.
“Any position may negatively affect ethnic Armenians living in Ukraine,” he said.
Minasyan is confident those waiting for Armenia's position from the viewpoint of their interests, will be disappointed as in case the stance is voiced, the situation will be opposite to their expectations.
Azerbaijan did not express its position either, unlike Georgia whose motives are clear.
“Every Russia's military initiative in post-Soviet area affects the former Soviet states in a similar way. Any military activeness from Russia drives the post-Soviet states into a kind of stupor,” Minasyan concluded.
