YEREVAN. – West will not use force in connection with Ukrainian events. Russia will be smashed economically, former head of Armenian special services said.

Davit Shahnazaryan, head of Accord center, is confident that Russia and West overestimate Russia's  capabilities and underestimate West.

“Western states must realize that Russia has declared Cold War,” he emphasized.

In case of any scenario, Armenia will be pressurized by Russia. If Armenian authorities recognize referendum in Crimea, this will be crime against Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.

“Armenian authorities are still able to be neutral. It is likely that Russia will take decisive actions in our region. Without war, Russian President Vladimir Putin can not maintain preserve his power,” he added.

He believes that the most important component of modern warfare is information war where Russia has already suffered defeat.  Collapse of “Putin's Empire” , Shahnazaryan noted, is inevitable. Only scenarios can change.
