YEREVAN. – A total of 780 students, who are not included in the free education system of the first-year studies in Armenia’s state-run institutions of higher education, on Tuesday received scholarship certificates from the Youth Foundation of Armenia (HEH).

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan was on hand at the presentation ceremony, and he awarded certificates to several students.

The Armenian government had allocated 60 million drams (approx. $145,127) to HEH to organize a contest for scholarship provision.

Addressing the students at the event, Sargsyan noted that the tuition reimbursement program will be ongoing.
“Whatever we do for you, it’s not enough, you deserve more. One of the government’s key tasks is to make sure you feel happy in our homeland and bind your future with the homeland,” the PM noted.

In turn, Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan stressed that Armenia’s students who show an excellent academic performance but are unable to pay the tuition fees should not be left out of the education system, and this scholarship contest is its best opportunity.
