YEREVAN. – Information was received, on March 3, from the State Food Safety Service of the Armenian Ministry of Agriculture.

According to the information, laboratory studies showed that 36 cattle were infected with brucellosis in 17 farms in Dzoraghbyur village of Kotayk Region.

Once the ministry specialists received the aforementioned information, an epidemiological research was conducted in the above-said farms, blood tests were conducted with 77 people who had contact with the sick animals, and a medical supervision was declared for these persons.

As a result, one person was diagnosed with brucellosis. There was a sick cow in his farm and it was slaughtered. But after receiving treatment at “Nork” Republican Infectious Clinical Hospital in capital city Yerevan, he was discharged.

The laboratory studies are in progress, and the final diagnosis of the others will become clear after a re-examination.
