The airspace of Crimea will be closed in connection with the referendum—on whether or not joining the Russian Federation—to be conducted in the peninsula, Crimea Prime Minister Sergei Aksenov tweeted.
“For security reasons, Crimea’s airspace will be closed during the referendum,” Aksenov stated without noting specific dates.
Civil aviation flights between Ukrainian capital city Kyiv and Simferopol, Crimea, were canceled on Tuesday.
