YEREVAN. – Ukraine is ready to sit an negotiating table with Russia, Ukraine's Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Kukhta said.

There will be good relations between the states (after disputable issues are settled – ed.), he added.

“We are neighbors. We always had good relations. Ukraine is ready to sit at negotiating table. The relations were, are and will be mutually beneficial, built on equality,” Ambassador told reporters on Thursday.

Ambassador Kukhta said the situation in Crimea is concerning for the entire international community.

“According to some assertions, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, holding of referendum in Crimea, may be dangerous not only for European continent, but entire international community. Therefore, world community is urging Russia to sit at negotiating table. God forbid, that we exhausted all opportunities,” he said.

Commenting on the remark that Viktor Yanukovych is a “tool in the hands of Russia”, Ambassador noted it is difficult to answer whether it is so.

“Now he is in Russia. He made statements twice, I cannot say anything more,” the diplomat emphasized.

Criticizing the conduct of Russia as a member of the Budapest Treaty, according to which Ukraine renounced nuclear program in exchange for security guarantees and territorial integrity, Ambassador said that it is unacceptable because it may have implications and serve as an example for other nations:“why to sign documents if they are not implemented?”

However, the diplomat expressed the view that the Ukrainian side will implement the documents as of 1994.
