Russia does not need an international structure to consider Russian-Ukrainian relations,Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said after his talks with John Kerry in London.

He told reporters that there is no common vision between Russia and U.S., but the talks were “useful”.

Lavrov stressed that Russia has not and “cannot have” any plans to invade southeastern regions of Ukraine.

Speaking about possible sanctions against Russia, the Minister said “our partners also understand that sanctions are a counterproductive instrument”.

Lavrov noted that Russia will respect the will of Crimean people, and will express final position after results of the March 16 referendum are received.
