A presidential election will be conducted in Slovakia on Saturday.

More than four million citizens are eligible to vote.

If the president is not elected in the first round, there will be a run-off on 29 March.

Incumbent President Ivan Gašparovič, however, cannot run for the office because he was reelected for a second—and final—term in 2009.   

The top three favorites for the Office of the President of Slovakia are serving PM and ruling Smer party leader Robert Fico, civic candidate and philanthropist Andrej Kiska, and former Minister of Culture Milan Kňažko, reports RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.  

A total of fifteen candidates are running for president. 

The Central Election Commission of Slovakia will announce the official results on Sunday afternoon.
