YEREVAN. – The green areas of Armenia’s capital city Yerevan will total 850 hectares this year.
The landscaping and flowering activities in the city have begun, Yerevan Municipality press service informed.
In the context of Yerevan’s proportionate development, the respective process is carried out in all the districts.
According to the 2014 plan, the total area of the capital city’s floral areas will reach 6.2 hectares, and total of 2,300,000 flowers will “decorate” Yerevan.
In addition, the city’s irrigation water network will be expanded by 23 kilometers, so as to maintain the green areas.
It was instructed to coordinate the landscaping projects also with the chief designer of Yerevan.
The Armenian capital city’s climatic conditions, terrain, and several other necessary factors likewise will be considered within the framework of the 2014 plan.
