German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Russia remains a member of G8.
Merkel said only preparation for G8 summit planned for June in Sochi has been suspended, Deutsche Welle reported quting dpa.
“No other decisisons have been made,” Merkel said.
Earlier French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said Russia was suspended from the G8. This statement was followed by U.S. President Barack Obama’s invitation to G7 leaders to meet in Europe next week.
