YEREVAN. – Conducting a fair referendum in the presence of foreign troops is dubious, and Crimea’s referendum is “sketched.”
National Assembly opposition Heritage Faction MP, Armenian National Movement member, former FM Alexander Arzumanyan stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Wednesday.
“The Crimean referendum is entirely sketched, since it’s impossible that 96-97 percent of the population votes for Crimea’s entry into Russia, especially since the Crimean Tatars boycotted the elections, and others likewise were against Crimea’s entry into Russia,” he noted.
In Arzumanyan’s words, following the referendum, the European Union will impose sanctions against Russia.
As for the fact that Russia supplies natural gas to numerous European countries, the MP stated that the superpowers will consider everything when applying sanctions.
To the reporters’ query as to whether a world war may start, Alexander Arzumanyan specifically responded: “There are always talks about war; we will live and see what happens.”
