YEREVAN. – Ukraine's Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Kukhta explained the reasons why Ukraine intends to withdrawal from CIS.

During a press conference on Thursday, the diplomat said there is no need for organization that is not bringing benefit. 

Ambassador said that in difficult time for Ukraine foreign ministers of CIS failed to find time and gather in order to discuss the situation.

“This is the reason we officially announced withdrawal from CIS. No one needs to gather only in order to drink tea of coffee,” he added.

Ukraine is chairing CIS this year. Kyiv twice offered to host the meeting of CIS foreign ministers, but the ministers failed to gather.

As to relations between Armenia and Ukraine after latter's withdrawal from CIS, Ambassador noted that there is a large contractual legal framework between the states that will enable to regulate bilateral relations.
