YEREVAN. – Armenia’s New Political Culture Party Chairwoman Ani Zakharyan claims to have greatly contributed to the four non-ruling-coalition parliamentary forces’ motion of no confidence to the government.

“I was the first to speak, during the November 24 [, 2013] rally, about a [need for a] change in power in Armenia,” Zakharyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

She commented on the aforesaid forces’—i.e., the Armenian National Congress, Prosperous Armenia, ARF Dashnaktsutyun, and Heritage—tabling, on April 28, a motion of no confidence to the government.

Woman politician likewise is preparing to demand a change in the government and the president.

“I had given the president six months to raise the minimum wages and the pensions. As you can see, what I said was carried out. Nonetheless, I already have started a signature campaign, and I have already collected 3,000 signatures,” Zakharyan noted. 

The party leader added that she played a role also in the not raising of the public transport fare in capital city Yerevan.

“Our party demanded that the communities regulate public transport, and this happened. The authorities listened to us in this case, too,” Ani Zakharyan stated. 

The head of Armenia’s New Political Culture Party, however, stressed that she has started a signature campaign demanding the resignation of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, and about 300 respective signatures are collected so far.
