YEREVAN. – No initiative can remain in the shadow, and if it stems from concern, we are prepared to listen and discuss, Armenian National Assembly (NA) Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan told reporters on Monday.

Abrahamyan commented on the four non-ruling-coalition parliamentary forces’—i.e., the Armenian National Congress, Prosperous Armenia (PAP), ARF Dashnaktsutyun, and Heritage—initiative to table a motion of no confidence to the Armenian government.

“The National Assembly is a platform where the problems must be voiced and the responses be received,” the parliament chair said, in particular.

To the query as to whether the PAP could demand the President’s resignation, Abrahamyan responded: “I think not.”

As reported earlier, the four non-ruling-coalition NA forces have started collecting signatures to include the aforesaid motion—and as a special hearing—on the agenda of the four-day National Assembly session which will get underway on 28 April.
