YEREVAN. – Armenian Deputy Prime Minister, Territorial Administration Minister Armen Gevorgyan on Wednesday received a World Bank (WB) mission that studies the comprehensive management of water resources. 

The WB mission was led by senior water resources specialist, Winston Yu.

The WB mission chief informed that they plan to discuss, with the Armenian government, the chances for conducting studies of water resource management in Armenia, the Territorial Administration Ministry press service informed.

In turn, the deputy PM noted that the effective management of water resources is topical for Armenia, and the Armenian government attaches great importance to this matter.

Gevorgyan also said that the creation of new opportunities for the accumulation of water is a priority for Armenia and, to this end, the government has launched major projects for building reservoirs.

The interlocutors also reflected on the ongoing WB-assisted programs in Armenia’s water system.
