Ukraine will consider the position by Belarus and Armenia which voted against, on Thursday at the UN General Assembly, the resolution on Ukraine’s territorial integrity.

Ukraine MFA Information Policy Division Director Evgeny Perebiynis stated the above-said, Liga-Novosti reported.

“Ukraine is saddened by the position of Armenia and Belarus. We shall take this position into account when we make a decision on the development of relations with these countries,” Perebiynis said.

According to the Ukrainian MFA representative, however, Ukraine bears in mind that the political leaders of these countries do not express the view of millions of their ordinary citizens.

“Today solely ten countries, whose authorities are based on the financial flows from Moscow, filled Russia’s ranks,” Evgeny Perebiynis added.

Armenia was among the eleven countries—including Belarus—that on Thursday voted against the UN General Assembly resolution which declares invalid Crimea’s recent referendum calling for joining Russia. In addition, 58 countries abstained from voting on this resolution, whereas 100 countries voted in its favor. The UN General Assembly resolutions, however, are merely consultative.
