Amid crisis in Ukraine, NATO intends to expand cooperation with Moldova, Armenia and Azerbaijan, Der Spiegel reported.

The newspaper obtained a document on practical measures to develop cooperation with NATO on mentioned states. The main goal is supporting partners in the region.

According to the newspaper, the ways to improve the compatibility between the armies of these states and the armed forces of NATO will be considered. The matter is joint exercises and advanced training of military personnel. The alliance will reportedly strengthen cooperation with Azerbaijan on energy and cyber security. NATO in Armenia gives priority to training of personnel of the Armed Forces, ITAR-TASS reported.

A two-day meeting of foreign ministers of NATO will open on April 2 when they will discuss measures to support Eastern European members of the alliance.
