YEREVAN. – The “Dem.Am [I am against]” civic initiative—which opposes the mandatory component of the new pension law in Armenia—has not yet decided whether it will participate in the 24-hour rallies of the four non-ruling-coalition parliamentary factions.

“Dem.Am” member Hayk Avetisyan informed the abovementioned at a press conference on Thursday.

“At any rate, ‘Dem.Am’ has different-minded people who may attend [these rallies], but we have not yet decided on behalf of the initiative itself.

“We will discuss and announce in the near future,” Avetisyan said.

To the query on whether or not the four aforementioned forces may participate in “Dem.Am’s” rally on April 12, the movement member responded: “We have not decided.”   

The four non-ruling-coalition parliamentary factions—i.e., the Armenian National Congress, Prosperous Armenia, ARF Dashnaktsutyun, and Heritage—are preparing to stage 24-hour rallies from April 28 to 30 at Liberty Square in capital city Yerevan. The agenda item of the events will be the demand for the government’s resignation.
