Armenian police has recently repressed an attempt of large consignment drug traffic, Armenian Public Television reports.
Armenian law enforcement received information about Iranian citizen Ruben Harutyunyan who smuggled 1 kg opium to Armenia, intending to sell it for AMD 5 000 (about U.S.$13) a kilo.
On 3 August police caught Ruben Harutyunyan, Armen Karamyan and Lilit Yeremyan. Police found about 300g opium and AMD 3.5 mln (about $ 9.5 thousand).
The criminal proceedings are instituted.
