Aleksanyan himself stated the above-said at a press conference on Saturday.
“These are political technologies. I don’t consider the calculations that are made to be accurate, and I don’t think they will be effective. And this is their [RLP] stance, but this will not have any major significance for the Republican [Party]. RPA has always wanted to have the political forces engage in power. Our doors are always open to all forces.
“RLP, with this step [of leaving the coalition government], pursues political objectives, which I don’t think will be effective. Their goal is to elevate their image. Those adopting an oppositional stance resolve the matter of political image because it is easier to criticize and [it is] pleasing to the people. But on the other hand, the [Armenian] society has matured and it understands everything.
“If Orinats Yerkir is becoming an opposition solely to criticize, it has done that several times already. But if it manifests itself correctly, it might be able to succeed in the opposition,” the RPA deputy specifically stated.
