YEREVAN. – Armenia registered 1,210 divorces during the three months of 2014, a 34.9 % increase as compared with the same period last year, National Statistical Service reported.
However, the number of marriages made 4,744 increasing only by 3.3 percent. Thus, there is one divorce for every four marriages.
The balance between marriages and divorces in Armenia is getting worse. There were only 166 divorces for 1,000 marriages in 2012, as compared to 255 this year.
