YEREVAN. – Armenia's accession to Customs Union played a key role in Moscow's warning Ankara against not interfering in Karabakh conflict, expert from Noravank center Sergey Sargsyan said.

Sargsyan delivered a report during an international conference on collective self-defense.

The political analyst is convinced that another task that is very well performed by the Collective Security Treaty is reducing the existing potential for conflicts in the territory of the former Soviet Union and the conflict potential in already existing local disputes.

“Currently, the basis of military security of the Republic of Armenia and the Nagorno- Karabakh Republic are, the armed forces of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army, and secondly, Armenia's membership to CSTO, cooperation with Russia, Russian base in the territory of Armenia  and military group of Border Troops of the Russian FSB,” Sargsyan said.
