YEREVAN. – The Yerkrapah Volunteers’ Union (YVU) members paid a visit to the Yerablur Military Pantheon in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan, early Thursday morning, and paid tribute to the fallen soldiers of the Karabakh War (PHOTOS).    

Union President, General Manvel Grigoryan, and the war veterans were at the military cemetery at 8am, the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informed.

Soon they were joined by several MPs, PM Hovik Abrahamyan, Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, and Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan.

Those in attendance placed flowers to the tombs of late PM, Supreme Commander Vazgen Sargsyan, and General Andranik Ozanian.   

At present, the YVU members are at the Mother Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin, to take part in a requiem service.  

May 8 is observed as the Yerkrapah (land protector) Day in Armenia since 2002, and it is celebrated on the anniversary of the liberation of the City of Shushi, Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
