Turkey’s well-known Armenian sports figure Garip Erkuyumcu bequeathed all his property to the Turkish General Administration of Sports.
Ayten Erkuyumcu, the wife of Garip Erkuyumcu who had died in 2012, informed that she is determined to carry out her husband’s will and that she is working with attorneys toward transferring their real estate and financial assets over to the Turkish General Administration of Sports, Sabah daily of Turkey reported.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Turkey decided to appreciate this gesture by the Armenian couple by naming some sports facilities after them.
Garip Erkuyumcu was a member of the International Amateur Boxing Association Referees Commission, and he had died of a heart attack during the 2012 London Olympics.
