Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II issued a message of congratulations on the anniversaries of the victories which the Armenian nation has achieved in the month of May.

“May 9, which in our [Armenians’] life is marked by our people’s victories in the Great Patriotic War [during World War II] and in the Artsakh [Karabakh] war of liberation, has for us the counsel of the right to live in peace and liberty and the protection of the Motherland.

“The children of our people around the world have heroically participated in all fronts of the Great Patriotic War, in the fight against violence and achieving victory.

“With the same patriotic and brave spirit, the sons of the Armenians liberated [Nagorno-Karabakh City of] Shushi, achieving a great victory in the Artsakh war of liberation.

“We are full of faith [that] the Artsakh Armenians’ righteous right to live in freedom and independence likewise will be crowned with victory,” the Catholicos’ message runs, in particular.
