STEPANAKERT. – President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan and President of Armenia Serzh Sarkisyan participated in solemn events organized in Stepanakert and Shushi within the frameworks of the Victory Holiday, the Day of the Artsakh Republic Defense Army and the 22st anniversary of the Shushi liberation.
In the Stepanakert Memorial Complex, Presidents laid a wreath and flowers to the monument commemorating martyrs perished in World War II and the Artsakh Liberation Struggle.
On the same day Bako Sahakyan and Serzh Sargsyan visited the town of Shushi where they laid wreath and flowers to the pedestal of the “Tank” monument and to the monument of Sparapet Vazgen Sargsyan.
The Presidents visited an exhibition-fair organized in the town.
During the festive event held in Shushi President Sahakyan handed the “Grigor Lousavorich” order to the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan for exclusive services rendered to the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
NKR second President Arkady Ghukasyan, Primate of Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan, Armenian National Assembly speaker Galoust Sahakyan, NKR National Assembly speaker Ashot Ghulyan, Premier Ara Haroutunyan, Armenia and NKR officials, guests from the Diaspora and abroad participated in the festive events.
