YEREVAN. – President Serzh Sargsyan on Monday received Mark Horton, Head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission to Armenia, and Teresa Daban Sanchez, IMF Resident Representative in Armenia.
The President stressed that Armenia highly appreciates the joint projects and the collaboration with IMF. Sargsyan also underscored Horton’s visit to Armenia shortly after the formation of a new government in the country.
In turn, the head of the IMF mission to Armenia briefed the President on the results of his talk with Armenia’s new PM, and spoke about the Armenian government’s willingness to discuss the joint projects with the IMF and the issues of mutual interest.
In the context of Armenia’s ongoing reforms, the interlocutors also reflected on the pension reforms. The head of the IMF mission to Armenia noted that the International Monetary Fund will continue its assistance to these reforms, which are essential in terms of the economic development opportunities for Armenia.
