YEREVAN. – The delegation from the Committee for Petitions  of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, which is visiting Armenia capital city Yerevan, on Tuesday paid a visit to the Armenian Genocide Memorial.

The Czech MPs laid a wreath and placed flowers to the Genocide Monument and honored in silence the 1.5 million innocent victims of the Genocide, the Armenian National Assembly press service informed.

Noting that she had heard about the Armenian Genocide for the first time during her student years, but had got more familiarized with and studied it while preparing to visit Armenia, head of the delegation Zuzka Bebarová-Rujbrová said:
“It is the first time we are here in the Armenian Genocide Memorial, and we pay tribute to the Armenian people, whom they wanted to annihilate 99 years ago in Turkey by genocide.

“We hope that such crimes will not be repeated in the future. The Czech nation, the Czech people treat the Armenian Genocide with respect.”
