YEREVAN. – In the current situation, the basis of Armenia's foreign policy must be built on relations with regional states,  new relations with Iran and Georgia, opposition MP Nikol Pashinyan said.

Pashinyan is convinced Armenia should try to build new ties with the world through relations with these countries.

Despite friendly relations with Georgia and Iran, a careful observer will notice that relations with these two countries are at a stage of stagnation.

“For Armenia 's foreign policy essential is perception of changes around the Islamic Republic of Iran and therefore changes in the region. And from this viewpoint, an important statement was Iran's readiness to consider the possibility of gas exports to Europe via Armenia,” Pashinyan said, adding there was no response from official Yerevan.

Earlier this month Iranian Deputy Oil Minister Ali Majedi said Iran can export natural gas to Europe through three different routes, including via Armenia, Georgia and the Black Sea.ˈ
