YEREVAN. – The businesses in Armenia have until July 1 to pass to the fair play rules.

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan stated the aforesaid at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting commenting on his meeting on Wednesday with representatives of the country’s big businesses.

Abrahamyan said he has instructed Finance Minister Gagik Khachatryan to monitor this process.

“We have agreed that the business conditions will be equal for everyone. We are giving time until July 1 so that the business [in Armenia] endeavors to work in another fashion. Subsequently, we will be forced to apply levers within our powers,” the PM stated.   

In his words, it was decided that Wednesday’s meeting with representatives of the big businesses be held without the media representatives so that the message to the business be made quietly yet strongly.  

“I wanted to make it clear that the Government speaks [in a] calm, but serious [manner],” Hovik Abrahamyan added.
