YEREVAN. – Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received the head of EU delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Traian Hristea on Friday to discuss prospects of Armenia-EU cooperation.

PM Abrahamyan underscored that the newly formed government will continue actively working with EU and will undertake practical steps to deepen bilateral ties, government's press service reported.

Ambassador Hristea congratulated Prime Minister on his appointment and highly assessed cooperation during Abrahamyan's tenure as a National Assembly speaker. He confirmed EU's readiness for promotion of reforms in different areas and raising bilateral cooperation to higher level.

The sides discussed prospects for strengthening of cooperation between Armenia and EU. They noted that cooperation development must proceed from the joint statement adopted by Armenia and EU during the Vilnius summit in late November.
