Two Armenians were killed as a result of shelling of the Armenian-populated districts of Aleppo, Syria.

The press service of the Diocese of Aleppo of the Armenian Apostolic Church informed the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Rakhel Tavitian and Misak Barkev Poshkezenyan died as a result of the attacks.

It is noted that Aleppo’s Armenian-populated districts—specifically, the Nor Kiugh (New Village, in Armenian) district—are shelled regularly in recent days.

Before the start of the bloody events in Syria, 60-70 thousand Armenians lived in the country, and more than half of them lived in Aleppo.
