STEPANAKERT. – Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), or Artsakh, President Bako Sahakyan on Thursday convened a meeting of the NKR Security Council.

The efficient and safe organization of the crop harvest, and the NKR demographic situation in 2013 and in the first quarter of 2014 were on the agenda of the talk.

NKR PM Ara Harutyunyan, Agriculture Minister Andranik Khachatryan, director Artur Harutyunyan of the State Service for Emergency Situations, chairman Karen Nersisyan of the National Statistical Service, and several other officials delivered corresponding reports and speeches, informed the Central Information Department of the Office of the NKR President.
In turn, Sahakyan gave corresponding instructions to the government and relevant structures, and toward the proper implementation of the discussed issues.

For effective organization of the harvest activities, the President instructed the government to form a situation room headed by the agriculture minister, and no later than June 15.

With the involvement of the relevant structures, the government was also instructed to thoroughly examine the matters dealing with demography and, if necessary, to prepare a draft program of comprehensive measures aimed at improving the demographic situation the republic, and to submit it to the NKR President.
