YEREVAN. – Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Armenia received an emergency call on Friday at 3:04pm.

Accordingly, an accident had taken place on the Spitak-Gyumri motorway, in the Lori Region, nearby Mets Parni village. As a result, a Volkswagen had gone off road and turned over. 

A fire and rescue squad was dispatched to the scene, the MES Rescue Service informed.

It was found out that the Volkswagen, with R. Kh. behind the steering wheel, had run over A. R., 14, and subsequently going off road, it had turned over into the adjacent field. 

Before the fire and rescue squad’s arrival on the scene, however, the injured—A. R. and passenger A. G.—were transferred to the Spitak city medical center by local efforts. But A. R. died en route.

Doctors say A. G. is in an average critical condition.
