President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev invited Turkey to join Eurasian Economic Union as an associate member, president's press service reported.

“Eurasian Economic Union is open for other states, for example Turkey and other countries may become associate members of the Union in the near future,” Nazarbayev said during the briefing summing up Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking Countries.

Kazakh President noted that Armenia and Kyrgyzstan plan to join the Union, while other states are showing interest in development of trade with the alliance.
