Armenia’s City of Gyumri Mayor Samvel Balasanyan on Saturday received representatives from the Agat Center that deals with the problems of people with special needs, the American MIUSA organization, and the Pyunik Union.

The aforementioned representatives were in Gyumri along the lines of the Sport for Success program.

The mayor thanked the representatives for their assistance to the people with special needs in the city, and underscored the disabled youth’s involvement in sports.

In turn, the guests thanked the mayor for his willingness to assist in their programs. Subsequently, they presented the American track-record in engaging people with disabilities in sports and the avenues for achieving this in Armenia, too. The interlocutors also informed that, to this end, seven specialists in disabled sports already have arrived in Armenia from the US. They also noted that a ten-member delegation from Armenia will visit the US, between September 17 and 28, for exchange of knowhow.

At the end of the talk, the parties exchanged mementos.
